Former FEAR FACTORY Guitarist Joins Forces With DEVOLVED, Ex-LIQUID GANG Members
January 23, 2003Former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares has teamed up with ex-LIQUID GANG singer Jose Maldonado and DEVOLVED drummer John Sankey in a brand new, as-yet-unnamed band.
The group, who are based in Los Angeles, recently finished work on a three-song demo, which they've submitted to Roadrunner Records for their consideration.
The tracks featured on the CD are as follows:
01. Wish You All The Worst
02. Purify
03. Within The Walls Of Nothing
Cazares, who remains under contract with Roadrunner as part of an agreement he signed while a member of FEAR FACTORY, is currently seeking a suitable bassist for the new project, which has completed an additional six songs in instrumental form so far.
In related news, the reformed FEAR FACTORY — now consisting of Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar/bass),Raymond Herrera (drums),and Burton C. Bell (vocals) — have officially parted ways with Roadrunner Records after the label opted not to exercise their contractual option to issue the group's next studio album.
The band, who originally split in March 2002 as a result of longstanding personal differences between Cazares and Bell, are presently shopping a recently-completed four-song demo — featuring the songs "Slave Labor", "Corporate Cloning", "Archetype", and "Bite The Hand That Feeds" — to interested labels with a view towards issuing a new CD before the end of the year.
